Why is Liver Health So Important?
The liver is necessary for hundreds of functions in the human body!
Here are a few examples:

- Healthy digestion and metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats

The liver filters your blood, removing toxins and other substances such as drugs, alcohol, and other chemicals in order to break them down effectively.

Dietary Suggestions
There are many foods which may help boost liver health:
- Nuts
- Beans
- Berries (such as strawberries and blueberries)
- Make sure they are rinsed and free of chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides before eating!
Cruciferous vegetables are also excellent for the liver since they contain very rich sources of phytochemicals and antioxidant properties. Try adding the following cruciferous vegetables to your diet!
- Cauliflower
- Broccoli
- Brussels sprouts
Fatty fish such as:
- Wild caught salmon
- Mackerel
- Sardines rich in omega-3 fatty acids
Coffee has a multitude of benefits for liver health:
- Coffee contains diterpenes and a tremendous number of antioxidant properties that may be very beneficial
- Try not to use a lot of milk and sugar…. Black coffee is best if you can!
Additional Tips
Drink plenty of water!
Your liver depends on fluid and clean water. Typically 8 to 10 glasses per day will suffice. If you exercise or your work requires much physical activity, your water intake needs may be greater.
If you do not like plain water try adding a squeeze of an orange or lemon – the goal is to stay hydrated and provide plenty of water for your liver.
Water provides numerous benefits to all of your organs, right down to the individual cells in your body!

- B6
- B12
- Folic acid
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
There are several herbs which may benefit your liver health as well:
- Milk Thistle
